Gabby Douglas -Gymnast 

In honor of the 2012 Olympic Games, TIME Magazine has released five different covers for their Olympics issue. Three of the covers feature Team USA athletes Gabby Douglas, Ryan Lochte and Lolo Jones. Each shares stories of their path to the Olympic dream alongside exclusive photos shot by Martin Schoeller.

For TIME there were too many athletes for one cover. So they released five,including three (featured in this post)  in the U.S. Swimmer Ryan Lochte, gymnast Gabby Douglas and hurdler Lolo Jones all are featured on separate covers. British heptathlete Jessica Ennis is the cover in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while Japanese soccer star Homare Sawa is the cover is Asia. It’s not the first time, the magazine has done this. On Aug 4, 2008 men’s and women’s basketball stars LeBron James and Diana Taurasi graced separate covers while hurdler Liu Xiang was the cover in the Asia edition.
